SENDING US YOUR DOCUMENTS

To legally produce number plates, suppliers require customers to provide original documents that prove their identity and entitlement to the registration.

These documents must be in their original form, NO photocopies and digital copies not being accepted.

Acceptable documents include a V5C Logbook, V750 Certificate, and certain utility bills.

Suppliers must check and record document reference numbers to confirm the customer's identity, address, and entitlement to the registration.

This is in accordance with the laws surrounding the production of number plates, which state that only original documents are acceptable proof.

Our company adheres strictly to the guidelines governing the supply of number plates, prioritizing customer security throughout the ordering process and beyond.

We take measures to prevent vehicle cloning and associated criminal activities by only selling registration numbers to individuals with legitimate access to the necessary documentation.

This commitment to security is unwavering and provides our customers with peace of mind, knowing that their vehicle's identity is protected.

To complete a purchase, two types of documents are required:

1. Identification (Proof of Address): This can be verified using one of the following documents, which must be dated within the last 6 months:

  • Utility bill
  • Telephone bill
  • Council Tax bill or rates bill
  • Bank or building society statement
  • Driving Licence (Photo-card or paper counterpart)
  • National Identity Card

2. Registration Entitlement: This can be confirmed using one of the following documents:

  • Vehicle registration certificate (V5C or V5CNI)
  • New keeper supplement (V5C/2 or V5C/2NI)
  • Certificate of entitlement to the number (V750 or V750NI)
  • Retention document (V778)
  • Renewal reminder for vehicle tax or SORN (V11 or V11NI)
  • Temporary registration certificate (V379 or V379NI)
  • Number plate authorisation certificate with an official stamp from the DVLA or DVSA (V948)
  • Electronic number plate authorisation certificate (eV948)
  • Letter of authorisation from a fleet operator (including lease or hire company) quoting the document reference number from the registration certificate
  • For fleets in the new V5C on demand scheme, a PDF of the vehicle's details from the view vehicle record service

It's reassuring to know that Number Plate Guru guides customers through the documentation process after an order is placed, and provides clear instructions on the required documents. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact them.
